It is hygroscopic, flammable, and compared to other alcohols, it has higher toxicity and anesthetic properties. Tert-butanol is soluble in most organic solvents such as alcohols, esters, ketones, aromatic, and aliphatic hydrocarbons, making it one of the widely used petrochemical products.
